Take me to SCFAI

Purpose

This first visit is designed to collect important historical information about your child.

The Purpose of Tele-Boarding Visits

Intake-Q food consumption

The food intake questionnaire provides essential information that contributes to understanding your child’s case. The foods that your child is currently eating will be recorded. You will be asked details about how much they eat and how they are consumed.

Medical history

Collecting your child’s medical history and evaluating them for potentially undiagnosed conditions is important at this stage. Although it may not seem applicable, almost any condition can potentially affect the success of their treatment plan. It is important for us to know as much about their medical history as possible, both in regards to their allergies but also in all other areas such as gastrointestinal, pulmonary, cardiovascular, endocrine, and psychological.

Establish a medical team

Here at TPIRC we have specialty support for our patients that includes Pulmonologists, Allergists, Immunologists, and Gastroenterologists. For families coming from longer distances, this may not be convenient for your family. We encourage you to seek out other medical professionals in your area to be a part of your child’s medical team. We are happy to work alongside specialists or primary physicians since it is in our patients best interest.

Common Tele-Boarding questions

How long will my program be?
There are a number of factors that determine the length of treatment. Age, severity of allergens, type of allergen, family history, health history, etc. are all considered when designing your child’s unique protocol. The length of treatment will vary based on each child’s individual plan.

What causes food allergies?
There are many influential factors that include, but are not limited to, food exposures (age of exposure, protein amount, order, regularity), environmental factors (pollen and air pollutants), genetic predisposition, and other possible viral or bacterial exposures.

Who will get a Tele-Boarding Visit and why?

All patients begin TIP™ with a Tele-Boarding Visit.

Will I see the same physician throughout my treatment?

While in our program, your child will meet with many members of our team. We recently implemented the pod model, where we use data analytics to assign your child to the pod that is best for them after their Launch appointment. The pod allows your child to see the same medical assistants and providers during each visit.

Will we get to meet Dr. Randhawa?

Dr. Randhawa is very involved in the program and still creates the treatment plans for every patient. All of our providers were trained to execute and implement the treatment plans in a safe manner. Once we are able to host in-person events again, you can come say hi to Dr. Randhawa.

Patient experience and feedback

We value and incorporate your feedback. Which is why we implemented Tele-Boarding visits. Feedback from prior patient family’s experiences revealed that many wanted more physician 1:1 time to discuss their child child’s case. These visits were added to ensure there was sufficient time and care for your child and answer your family’s questions.
