Tolerance is the ability to consume large and infrequent amounts of food proteins on a regular basis without a reaction.
During this phase of tolerance induction, your child will transition away from daily protein exposure to weekly maintenance. You will need to come in-person for two visits during this phase, spaced 22-24 weeks apart, to challenge your child’s proteins at increasing amounts.
Tolerance Challenges
What will my Tolerance Visit look like?
Tolerance Visits ramp up of your child’s most allergic protein or proteins followed by a scheduled day to stress the immune system with variability of protein exposure. This is an important step in long-term Remission success.
TOLERANCE VISIT 1
Tolerance Visit 1 generally is the last “visit” listed on your child’s food dosing strategy.
TOLERANCE VISIT 2
Tolerance Visit 2 is generally the following visit, the visit prior to reaching Remission.
How is the timing of Tolerance Visits different from Challenge Visits?
TOLERANCE VISIT 1 TO 2
The timing between visits differ from typical challenge cycles that you have previously experienced. Between these two visits there is a crucial 4-month period of transition to ensure Remission success.
TOLERANCE 2 TO REMISSION
The timing between Tolerance visit 2 and Remission is generally 6 weeks.
